2008 Grant Awards

Grants to Applicants – these grants were selected by the Grants committee to fund projects that followed FCCF’s guidelines as well as fit the criteria established by the donor when the fund was created. 

·         Family Connections – Technology Upgrades - $2800 (Bath State Bank Unrestricted Endowment, General Community Grants)

·         Franklin County Historic Preservation – storm windows for 444 Main Street building - $1300 (Robert & Ethel Crawford Memorial Endowment,  General Community Grants)

·          Franklin County Public Library District – program equipment - $1200 (General Community Grants, Salt Creek Nature Sanctuary Endowment)

·          Laurel Volunteer Fire Department – new pagers - $5000 (General Community Grants, Bob & Marge Seibert Endowment, Otto Family Endowment, MainSource Bank Unrestricted Endowment )

·          Town of Oldenburg  – curb and sidewalk project - $6800 (General Community Grants)

·          Whitewater Memorial State Park – memorial markers to honor veterans - $1000 (Cpt. Charles Fox Endowment, Bath State Bank Unrestricted Endowment)

Designated Annual Grants – these grants were made from endowment funds that were established by the donor to support a specific purpose.  The recipients do not have to apply for these grants, but are awarded them each year income from the endowment fund is available.

·         Brookville Elementary School – Brookville Elementary School Tutoring

Assistance - $200 (Brookville Elementary School Tutoring)

·         Drewersburg Cemetery - Cemetery Maintenance - $310 (Drewersburg Cemetery Preservation)

·          Franklin County 4-H Association - Support of 4-H - $240 (Franklin County 4-H Association)

·          Franklin County Cemetery Commission - Bethlehem and Harmony Cemetery Maintenance - $380 (Bethlehem & Harmony Cemetery Preservation)

·          Franklin County Community Foundation – FCCF Operations - $7630 (Endowment for Operations, Dave & Marge Barrett Family, Fred & Margaret Chappelow)

·          FCHS Athletic Department - Women’s Athletic Program and Men’s

  Baseball Program - $390 (Carl & Marjorie Hinesley Memorial Athletic)

·         Franklin County Historical Society - Seminary Maintenance

and Educational Programs - $650 (Harvey-Osborn Franklin County Historical Society)

·         Franklin County Historical Society – Old Brick Church maintenance and historical programs- $265 ( Dr. & Mrs. Elmer Peters)

·          Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church – church or cemetery maintenance - $150 (Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church)

·          McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital – continuing education for Franklin County  employee - $160 (MHMH Education)

·         Pregnancy Help Center – general support - $400 (Olivia Rebecca Waggoner Memorial)

·          St. Michael School – to enhance the education of students - $265 (Dr. & Mrs. Elmer Peters)

·         St. Michael School – technology education enhancement - $500  (Raymond H. & Leo C. Amrhein Family Fund)

·          Town of Brookville - Brookville Town Park or Heap Memorial

  Swimming Pool - $220 (Danny Fox Memorial)

·         Town of Oldenburg – $330 – (Oldenburg Town Fund in honor of Stan and  Helen Enneking)

·         Tri-Kappa (will select recipient) - $150 – (Helen Strohmier Siebert Memorial)

·         United Way of Franklin County - United Way Operations - $660 (United Way of Franklin County)

·          Whitewater Valley Community Library District - Artwork in Libraries - $410  (Whitewater Valley Community Library Art)

Special Assistance Grants – these grants were made from endowment funds that were established by the donor to support a specific purpose.  They are awarded annually from a request for assistance application.

·         A family dealing with the loss of a dependent child - $2500 (Olivia Rebecca Waggoner Memorial)

·          An individual for hearing loss - $320 (John & Joyce Back Speech and Hearing Disability)
