Lois E. Clark Brookville/Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Endowment
Lois Clark has been a tireless worker for the benefit and enhancement of all local businesses. She has dedicated her life to serving and promoting not only the Brookville/Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, but our schools, our churches, and our community charities throughout Franklin County. Lois is recognized and respected for her marketing skills and business acumen throughout the state of Indiana.
Mrs. Clark became the first Director of Marketing at FCN Bank in Brookville on February 20, 1956, serving in that capacity as Assistant Vice President until 1989. Upon retirement from the bank, she became the Executive Secretary of the Brookville/Franklin County Chamber of Commerce. It would be impossible to measure in which position Mrs. Clark excelled the most. In the book, “The History of Franklin County”, she was dubbed “The Lady Diana” of Brookville for all of her efforts and contributions to the people of Franklin County.
In her honor, the Lois E. Clark Brookville/Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Endowment Fund was established in 2009 in the Franklin County Community Foundation. After the fund reaches $5,000, a portion of the income from the fund will be granted to the Brookville/Franklin County Chamber of Commerce each year.
In June 2008, Lois was appropriately crowned the Belle of the Brookville Bicentennial by the citizens of Brookville. For young and old alike, Lois Clark has been an inspiration. She has ennobled many lives. She has deepened many spirits. Lois Clark is a shining and eternal example of service, compassion and love for all.
