Sister Dominica Doyle Scholarship
Sister Dominica Doyle has taught and administrated generations as principal and teacher at Saint Michael Parish in Brookville. To honor her relentless dedication to instilling spiritual values and a desire for learning in her students, the St. Michael Parish community has established the Sister Dominica Doyle Scholarship in the Franklin County Community Foundation.
The scholarshipís principal will be invested and the income will be distributed evenly for two scholarships. The first scholarship will be awarded to a seventh grade St. Michael Student to be used for the studentís eighth grade books, tuition and fees. The second will be awarded to a St. Michael graduate for the studentís college education.
According to The Criterion, Sister Dominica was one of six people honored during Celebrating Catholic School Values awards dinner for exemplifying Catholic school values. She received the Outstanding Career Achievement Award.
She now serves as pastoral assistant after her retirement as St. Michael school principal. In her new role Sister Dominica serves the parish community and gives her time helping the poor, elderly and bereaved.
