Stanley "Bud" and Marilyn White Diabetes Assistance
Stanley “Bud” White and Marilyn Woodmansee were married on February 27, 1939 in Falmouth, Kentucky. They went on to have one daughter, Stanlee (husband Henry Weller) and one son, David (wife Paula). They also had seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The couple had been married for 72 years when Marilyn passed away on December 15, 2011.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Bud was an auctioneer and livestock dealer beginning in 1937 until he passed May 21, 2013. He played an important part in the Agricultural Community in numerous communities and states. Marilyn worked with her family at White’s Sale Barn in Brookville. She also played bridge in several clubs and was a member of Blooming Grove Methodist Church.
With memorial contributions, the Stanley “Bud” & Marilyn White Diabetes Assistance Endowment has been established in the Franklin County Community Foundation. Income from the endowment will be used to provide educational assistance in the form of scholarships to current college students who are residents of Franklin County. Applicants for the scholarship must have Type 1 diabetes and require insulin for treatment. Marilyn, as well as one of the couples great-granddaughters, was diagnosed with diabetes. The family saw the struggles that they both had to go through in their lives and would like to be able to help other individuals in similar situations, especially as they attend college.
